Software Signal Enhancement – Frequency Hopping

Without any radio interference, radio signals pass between the field devices and the Translator (or Expander) in a two-way manner:

With interference present, the signals from both devices are blocked and in this instance, the interference is so great that increasing the amplitude has no affect:

So the Translator (or Expander) will automatically switch the communication channel to a frequency that is clear:

Another method the system employs to overcome signal interruption is to automatically adjust the timing of the “handshakes” between the devices, speeding up or slowing down to avoid cross-contamination of signal data from other nearby Ekho devices.
