Placement of Expander Modules – Example 1

As this graphic illustrates, the position of an Expander in relation to the surrounding building structure will have a direct bearing on signal strength received by the wireless field devices. Note how the signals from the Expander to the field device following the shallower angle (a) have to pass through less building material than the signals to the field device following the deeper angle (b).
